"Mel & I are both really pleased with the job Lindsey did, she brightened up our home. It was really nice working with Lindsey & if we need anything in the future, I will call her. I will also recommend her services." - Dianne P.
As I've mentioned before, bathrooms & kitchens are my favorite spaces to design. I suppose it's because this is where form & function really come into play in a home. When a bathroom is not working for the homeowners, unfortunately it's not as easy as a fix as moving around some furniture & changing the paint color. However, because we essentially start from scratch this gives us the opportunity to have fun with different textures, materials & colors!
This is what we did with the bathroom for Mel & Dianne. They really desired a walk-in shower that would utilize the majority of the space & replace the existing standard tub/shower that was currently in place.
Dianne was open to using a variety of tiles to achieve an aesthetically unique pallet. With the combination of a large textured field tile, some colorful penny tiles & a glass accent tile, we created a shower they will enjoy for years.
Don't you just love a good before & after?
We also added a few new light fixtures & artwork to the living room, dining area, entry & master bedroom.
I can't believe how much a few pieces of artwork & new lighting really helped to warm up these spaces. And as I mentioned in my last post - Loving Lately Vol. 2 - the number one mistake homeowners make with artwork is hanging it too high. Even though this living room wall is pretty tall, I chose larger artwork to fill up the space & only hung it about a foot above this low-backed sofa, bringing the center of the artwork to eye-level.
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! The weather here was absolute perfection - rain in the mornings & sunshine all day. Have a great week!
